SUMMARY:Continuing Education: Transforming Quality Dementia Care
DESCRIPTION:Every 65 seconds\, someone in the US develops Alzheimer’s disease. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s\, and the majority will require professional care and support at some point as the disease progresses. This session will discuss the latest findings in dementia programming\, policy and research\, including an overview of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. \nFollowing this presentation\, the participant will be able to: \n\nIdentify the latest facts\, figures\, current research and initiatives for Alzheimer’s disease.\nUnderstand and learn about the Alzheimer’s Association’s evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations.\nRecognize the importance of honoring the goals\, preferences and priorities of residents with dementia.\n\nRSVP
