Here's the quick take:<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Across all three areas, it's the provider's responsibility to participate in relevant, substantive CE that will enable them to recertify with Virginia and the National Registry--if they choose.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following graphic shows the <strong>2016-2025 Virginia Recertification Requirements<\/strong> by provider level.\u00a0 Please note the requirements are tied to the date of the provider's last Virginia recertification cycle--<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #0000ff\"><strong>October 1, 2023<\/strong><\/span> is the key date which determines what CE requirements apply to the provider moving forward.\u00a0\u00a0The very first statement you make is:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">\"<em>Show me your current CE Report<\/em>.\"<\/h2>\n<p>When a provider comes to you with questions about the new Virginia CE requirements, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">their CE Report is crucial to the entire process<\/span>.\u00a0 As far as how the transition will work, look to the two scenarios below.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>If the provider recertified in Virginia on or after October 1, 2023:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>No earned CE will be lost or removed from your report in the transition.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>The CE earned and currently on their Virginia CE Report--from October 1, 2023 forward--will be retroactively transitioned to the new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2024\/06\/TR-64-BLS-ALS-NCCP-Recertification-June-2024.pdf\">2025 Virginia Recertification Requirements<\/a><\/strong><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The retroactive reprocessing of their CE to the new 2025 requirements may possibly change the number of hours their have in a specific areas based on the new requirements.\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Please review their Virginia CE Report with them to identify any areas that may be affected and require additional CE to be earned in order to be eligible for recertification in Virginia and with National Registry if applicable.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the provider is eligible for recertification in Virginia on June 17th, their eligibility\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong><em>will not be lost <\/em><\/strong><\/span>and they\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong><em>will<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<strong>not be required<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to complete additional CE based on this change in CE requirements to satisfy their Virginia recertification.<\/li>\n<li>If the provider is National Registry certified and they plan to maintain that certification, they <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #0000ff\"><em>must review their Virginia CE Report against the Registry NCCP 2025 requirements<\/em><\/span><\/strong> to ensure that they have earned enough CE in the correct areas to satisfy Registry recertification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>If the provider recertified in Virginia before October 1, 2023:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>No earned CE will be lost or removed from their report in the transition.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Their Virginia CE Report will <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">not be<\/span> transitioned and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">will not<\/span> change.<\/li>\n<li>They will remain under the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2024\/06\/TR-64-BLS-ALS-NCCP-Recertification-June-2024.pdf\">2016 Virginia Recertification Requirements<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>through their next Virginia recertification cycle.<\/li>\n<li>Following their next recertification in Virginia, they will then be required to follow Virginia is not requiring you to obtain certification with the National Registry.
