Communities across\u00a0Virginia\u00a0are inspiring others to\u00a0quit\u00a0using tobacco and nicotine products,\u00a0or\u00a0better yet, to never start.\u00a0<\/h3>\n

In Martinsville and Danville, community leaders are working together to reduce tobacco and nicotine use, prevent youth initiation, and protect residents from secondhand smoke, with a focus on improving health within the local African American community.<\/p>\n

The Tau Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority have joined together to talk the truth about smoking and nicotine. Local community leaders and residents are engaging in a campaign to advocate for change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the Helping to Clear the Smoke<\/a> campaign, the Omegas and Deltas are reaching the community through television and radio public service announcements, billboards, and other outreach efforts. By sharing facts about tobacco addiction and connecting people with free resources like Quit Now Virginia<\/a>, they are helping more Virginians take steps toward a tobacco-free future.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Omega Men are encouraging the<\/span>ir comm<\/span>unities to make\u00a0<\/span>healthy choices now,\u00a0<\/span>which\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>benefit<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>them<\/span>\u00a0in the future.\u00a0<\/span>They are leading the way to<\/span>\u00a0help<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0kids understand the facts and hav<\/span>ing important<\/span>\u00a0conversation<\/span>s around tobacco and nicotine<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
